The concept of puzzles finds its roots way back history. The first Pacman is a maze called a labyrinth and it use for religious purposes rather than for entertainment. However, the earliest true puzzle game known is Archimedes? Ostomachion which is 2200 years old.
Puzzle games were already around even before the advent of computers but computer made these games even more exciting and challenging. Since computers were invented, the game Tetris is the one that added an element of action to the usual puzzle games. Hence, the game is still popular today.
Today, puzzle games produced a big market especially in the apps market for smart phones and computers. In fact, the game Angry Birds have a total download of more than 100 million while Cut the Rope has more than 6 million.
With puzzle games made easily available to the internet, there is no question why a lot of people became addicted with these types of games.
