ISLAMABAD ? Police say a suicide bomber has blown himself up outside a bank in a market in Pakistan's capital of Islamabad, killing one person.
Islamabad police chief Wajid Durrani says the rare attack on Monday also wounded four people.
Police official Tahir Alam says the bomber tried to enter the bank building but was stopped by a security guard and blew himself up.
Rescue official Tariq Ali says the blast ripped through the basement of the bank.
Pakistan has suffered frequent militant attacks in the past several years, but Islamabad hasn't experienced a bombing in many months.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) ? Intelligence officials say a roadside bomb struck a military convoy in Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal area near the Afghan border, killing three soldiers.
The officials say Monday's attack in the Ladha area of South Waziristan also wounded four soldiers. The bomb was detonated by remote control and destroyed one military vehicle.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
South Waziristan was the main sanctuary for the Pakistani Taliban before the military launched a large ground offensive in October 2009. But attacks against security forces have continued in the area.
