Book Review ? "Where Men Win Glory" by Jon Krakauer

Jon Krakauer, author of the bestseller, renowned for his writing non-fiction and biography, has written a new book on a very difficult matter, in today's world address. His main argument in his new book "Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman," is the epic rise and fall of NFL star Pat Tillman. However, there is much more highly of a biography of the book. The author speaks in detail about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the life of aSoldier from beginning to end, and the politics of the world, for over the past 30 years. Krakauer has done their homework when writing this book, the result is second to none, non-fiction account of an extraordinary man.

Pat Tillman was a very active boy with his brother Kevin, as they grew up in California. Both are athletic and aggressive and always playing outside. Kevin eventually went to minor league baseball, never play the samemuch like Pat has continued to have a great career in college football and the pros. Tillman played football at Arizona State University, where he focused much attention as an undersized, but extremely aggressive defenders. After all his brave and reckless behavior caught the attention of NFL scouts the field, and after his senior year he joined the Arizona Cardinals. No one expects him even the team because of his small stature.

Tillman was in a big way inTraining camp, beginning a practice sure some games and possibly earn a spot on the defensive line-up. Each year seemed better to beat when he was running backs and receivers with everything he had and the recognition as one of the best guarantees in the NFL. While he was better and work harder in the NFL, but there are other problems in the world, much has been happening weighed on the mind of Pat. In particular, the United States had just pulled into the warwith Iraq and Afghanistan after 9 / 11 and the United States was very agitated and angry with the extremist Taliban and other groups.

Tillman was through attacks on American soil, and the decision to hunt down the Taliban, leaving his illustrious career in the NFL and join the Army Rangers postponed decision. Pat was to receive a massive increase in pay in the NFL and had just married his wife, but it was to do a burning desire in him, what was right, however, and had to go abroad and fightfor his country. Moreover, not only would. Pat recruited his brother, Kevin, to join him. Kevin easily fall into the small baseball career and joined the same class as his brother, Army Ranger so that they serve their time together in the army.

The army was not what Pat and Kevin were expecting when they leave their family and friends in California to fight for their country. What they found was a group of immature, annoying children who had no other prospects in lifeenter except in the army to have a raise. The Tillman brothers, along with several other old men of their class, were constantly told to calm down boys and their age. Although they have always through the immaturity that surrounds them angry, always thought that the prospect of going into battle and know what they are fighting for their lives trying to make the life of another means of them. This idea really excited about Pat and Kevin and they kept goingall the time. In addition, Pat knew that his loving wife waiting at home, and every night Pat wrote in his diary how he lost his wife and his eternal love for him. Pat wanted nothing more than to leave it back home and live the life that should not be left.

One of the most important points in this book is Krakauer, as the military government information and processes used for their own good. For example, the case in depth interviews Jessica Lynch KrakauerIraq. Lynch was reportedly in an Iraqi hospital fighting for his life imprisoned and tortured by Iraqi troops, but this was not the case. This idea of ??fighting for his life, Lynch was made directly from top government officials under the command of George Bush. If Bush and his officials could use to their advantage and Lynch make it appear as a remarkable American, who somehow survived the worst possible conditions would be to build the rest of the American public morality andSupport of the war and the Bush administration more.

Krakow on the example of Jessica Lynch as a building block for the death of Pat Tillman. Pat and his brother Kevin was riding in a convoy of military vehicles in a hostile area of ??Afghanistan, when one of their vehicles Humvee broke and needed a tow truck. The army has a policy in which a military vehicle behind which can never capture the opponent can be left, so men had to sit and figure out how to get the vehiclefrom enemy territory. Finally, the commanders of the group A requested that the group split into two smaller groups, so that both vulnerable, so the truck could be brought to a main road and near a small town could by Taliban militants, before being cleared sunset . Everyone in the group thought that Pat was a bad idea, but had continued, because they do not obey orders from people rank them higher self.

The decision to break up the group proved to be very unhappyquickly. Pat group was ambushed by Taliban forces shooting from higher ground, leading to pure chaos in the group of young and inexperienced Rangers. Rangers left most of their vehicles in education and taught Tillman and another soldier ran to higher ground at a better angle on the action obtain. The traffic was nonexistent because everyone tried to talk and cry at the same time. Many of the soldiers started to shoot blindly up and were to be so "trigger happy". One of theyoung soldier with an automatic weapon mounted on a vehicle are charged shot upward in the direction of the A-panic and wave your arms. What happened next is one of the most controversial events of the war with Afghanistan and is still under wraps until now.

While Pat Tillman and his Rangers were hidden behind a small rock on the hill, waving his arms frantically to adjust for the other Rangers fire against them, Tillman was shot three timesHead above the eyebrow. There was no doubt that he died immediately, and all the Rangers had to decide what to do with her body. They decided not to his brother, Kevin, and told to leave the body in the dark mysterious being led down the hill and with regard to Kevin. Only much later did Kevin and Pat remaining family to discover that Pat was killed by friendly fire. Needless to say that Pat's family was furious. Not only killed by friendly fire was, was nottreated according to standard military protocol. His clothes were burned before his autopsy in order to cover their tracks, and has not signed off his autopsy because of the mysterious evidence that the coroner mentioned do not agree with and have been. Despite all the mistreatment of American hero Pat Tillman, Bush and his director saw an excellent opportunity for another good example of Pat Tillman, as well as to make Jessica Lynch in Iraq.

Tillman's funeral and burial are shown in,all major news channels, including ESPN. Nothing in the mistreatment and death by friendly fire were called, or made it clear what the American public that Tillman died in the hands of a Taliban soldier. The investigations were carried out by the army and monitored by the Tillman family, but the high-ranking military officials were all lies, just so you can save your work and reputation. The soldiers responsible for the killing of Pat actually said that they just doing their joband not once said that it would have a little 'trigger-happy with. The worst thing is, most of these soldiers and commanders who to blame lie, if you do not receive little or nothing can be a downgrading of the Army Rangers, Army General. Mom and Pat's brother, the army continued to press, prepare responses and to admit the crime in recent years but still there was a lot of responsibility assumed by everyone in the army.

Pat Tillman will go down in history as a modelAmericans. There are many people in this world that would be more than three million dollars so to fight for his / her life in a country like Afghanistan. Pat not only give a lot of money, but gave valuable time with his beloved wife, friends and family. Now, instead remember him for the brave soldiers, great football player, good friend and loving husband who was to carry the well should be, the fact that he may be alive and there is a huge gray cloudovershadow the final days of his life. Krakauer has done a great job representation Pat Tillman as a legend of our time, but also as a person. His insight into the private lives Tillman give his personal diaries and recollections of friends and family of Pat the perfect picture of how Pat Tillman lived his life. This book has long been considered an easy 5 out of 5.
