The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a individual membership professional organization representing more than 80,000 member physical therapists (PTs), physical therapist assistants (PTAs), and students of physical therapy. APTA seeks to improve the health and quality of life of individuals in society by advancing physical therapist practice, education, and research, and by increasing the awareness and understanding of physical therapy's role in the nation's health care system. ? Responsible for content identification and implementing standards for providing high-quality continuing education. ? Organize and guide members to routinely assess current and proposed continuing education offerings and facilitate decision-making about which offerings to retire, update, and develop. ? Maintain APTA's status as an approved provider with the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) and the National Athletic Trainers Association to include documentation of compliance, review process, and structure as required for annual reporting and re-application. ? Support the identification of all APTA continuing education offerings. ? Assist with the development of all APTA continuing education offerings to align with industry standards as set by IACET. ? Provide written resources and oral presentations to explain and implement APTA standards to various audiences, for example, chapters and sections, third party entities, and related national organizations, and APTA staff. ? Develop processes and plans to collect needs data and ensure each learning event is in response to identified needs of a target audience. ? Maintain model speaker agreements and business model agreements for use with chapters and sections, third party entities, and related national organizations.Propose initiatives to streamline and facilitate CEU approval with state PT and PTA licensure agencies. ? All other duties as required by management related to the orderly, efficient and safe operation of APTA. ? Directly supervises one senior coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with APTA's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. ? NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Mid 60s

QUALIFICATIONS ? Knowledgeable about the development and delivery of continuing education ? Strong planning, communications, and negotiation skills ? Ability to develop and maintain excellent business relationships ? Excellent ability to work independently and in a team environment ? Bachelors degree or above preferred ?
