The Japan Day is an event which introduces people in the north west of England to the Japanese culture. This event is held every two years. In 2010 it took place in Manchester and had 2246 visitors and 33 exhibitors related to Japanese themes.
The programme of that event included taiko drumming, kimono dressing, sushi making demonstration and martial arts such as kendo, aikido, tekauchi-ryu bitchuden and laido performance. Moreover there were raffle draw and demonstrations of traditional Japanese embroidery.
