Information And Advice About Personal Statements | AutoRoll ...

If you don?t know what to include in your personal statement, then take a look at a few examples of previous personal statements. In general, a personal statement will be full of information about you. You can use your personal statement as a space to talk about everything that is not mentioned through your grades or references. Essentially, this is a lot of information.?

When you write your personal statement, the most important thing is deciding what information is interesting and relevant. Do not use your personal statement to write about sports or activities which have no relevance to university or the course that you have chosen to study. Additionally, once you have decided what information is relevant, make sure that you describe it in an interesting way. There is nothing that admissions staff hate more than reading endless boring descriptions.?

Many people write about awards, group activities, and work experience in their personal statement. These are useful things to write about in your personal statement so long as you make sure to describe what you are writing about concisely and explain how it relates to your application. If you feel that you haven?t taken part in any exciting courses, and can?t think of achievements to write about, it might be worthwhile thinking about any extra-curricular activities you took part in while at school.?

Activities that show team work and leadership skills are useful things to describe in a personal statement. If you feel that your extra curricular activities are not relevant to your course, for example, you were part of a maths club but are applying for an English degree, think about skills that are common to both these subjects. It isn?t as hard as it sounds! Many subjects which seem completely dissimilar actually have many similarities. Use your personal statement to describe your achievements and relate them to your actual course.
